NVT Online: Finalist 2006 iAwards
Jo Curkpatrick has been Operations and Communication manager for the Australian Crop Accreditation System (ACAS), since 2001.
In 2005, ACAS launched NVT Online - www.nvtonline.com.au which delivers information to farmers when they are deciding on what crop variety to sow. It captures, processes and analyses R&D field trial data and provides online reports. Jo and Span Communication have been working closely with the Grains Research and Development Corporation to promote the system to grain growers and their advisers across Australia. A significant communication strategy is in place to encourage farmers to access data.
NVT Online aids the delivery of accurate information to growers in shorter time frames and is a valuable resource with the potential to improve growers’ decision-making and profitability.
The software, developed in conjunction with the Eclipse Group, was nominated as a finalist in the agriculture section of the - the iAwards – a hotly contested category with 49 entries. The iAwards are organised by the Australian Information Industry Association and are the premier software development awards.
