Jo Curkpatrick ABC MPRIA MAICD

Jo Curkpatrick is founder and principal of Span Communication (Australia) Pty Ltd and holds tertiary qualifications in agriculture and journalism. Jo’s career began in agriculture as a research and extension/advisory officer. She was a reporter for ABC Radio and has held a number of senior public relations positions in higher education, the wool industry and banking.

Jo also has international experience, having undertaken a two-year assignment in the United Kingdom where she managed corporate communication for the International Wool Secretariat and worked closely with the international marketing group before returning home and establishing Span Communication.

She is a Past President of the Victorian Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC), a Member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and a member of the Rural Press Club of Victoria.

Jo is past-chair of the international judging committee for IABC’s Gold Quill awards and is a former chair of the Excel Award for communications excellence at CEO level and has been a judge for both IABC’s Gold Quill and PRIA’s Golden Target awards.

Jo is Acting Chair of the Lake Mountain Alpine Resort Management Board. She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
